That statement can be taken different ways as written. It could refer to the VM have 2 NICS or the Host have 2 NICS, so which is it?
Also you didn't say what version of VMware Player you're or what type of Network Adapter(s) the Guest is using, Bridged, NAT or Host-only, you're using however with multi-homed Hosts (2 or more active NICS) and using Bridged Network Adapter on the Guest you need to tell the Virtual Network Adapter which Host Network Adapter to bind too as automatic bridging doesn't not always work as expected. With VMware Player 5.x you can do this in the Network Adapters Settings of the VM's Settings.
Otherwise be a bit more explicit and specific about the Host/Guest configuration and what version of VMware Player you're using!
