I have the same isue in VWware 8
I have two separate disk, 1 system 2 data
I set the .vmem files > data disk
In Gui, edit virtual machine settings
VM > options > general >workings directoriy
the suspend and snapshot files will be stored here
choose data-disk
the performance will be better.
If jou have much host swap-file do: mainmem.backing = "swap"
