Thanks for the hint with the explicit language selection for each URL.
This is usable as a work around for downloading one document.
By the way: I use an English browser with language set to [en-us] on an English operating system. I’ve tried it with IE and Firefox. Every website works correct except vmware.com. This is annoying.
